Please – you must! – come eat, dance, celebrate African spirit this coming Saturday.
First come to campus for the African Students Organization SOUND OF AFRICA, 6:00 – 9:00 pm Student Union Ballroom. What’s up: African music, song, dance, food, art, and traditional story-telling. AFRIQUE AYA will drum and dance for you . . . .
And then it’s your turn to dance til you drop at the first monthly FAYETTEVILLE AFROPOP NIGHT dance-party blow-out. Whole Earth Organic Lounge, Center & College, downtown Fayetteville. Hosted by DJ turntable artiste Angelo – $5.00 at the door, all ages welcome. 9:30 pm – 2:00 am.
LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE: Look what happened in Montreal, with NUITS d’AFRIQUE. Started out the same way Angelo’s thinking, with a DJ dance party. Now check out what’s happened to it! http://www.festivalnuitsdafrique.com/en
As I write this, I’m rocking out to the awesome music the ASO has posted on their website. Ali Farka Toure DIARABY — I LOVE IT. Check out:
